Our Origins
Chosen By Grace's Founding Story
Chosen By Grace and Love Family & Services was founded by Dr. Gabrielle Joseph out of a deep calling to serve individuals and families with compassion, dignity, and faith. Through years of professional experience in foster care, family services, and community leadership, Dr. Joseph witnessed firsthand the gaps in support for both vulnerable children and adults navigating life transitions. Moved by prayer, lived experience, and a mandate to reflect God’s heart for restoration, she established Chosen By Grace and Love as a faith-based organization committed to creating safe, nurturing environments and holistic support systems. What began as obedience to a divine assignment became a mission-driven organization dedicated to family preservation, reunification when possible, adoption when necessary, and residential care that empowers individuals to heal, thrive, and walk in purpose anchored in grace and led by love.

Dr. Gabrielle Joseph
Dr. Gabrielle Joseph is a faith-driven leader, visionary founder, and compassionate advocate committed to restoring families and transforming lives through service, integrity, and grace. With a heart rooted in purpose and obedience to God’s calling, she has dedicated her work to creating safe, supportive, and nurturing environments for both children and adults. She is the Founder and Director of Chosen by Grace Family Services, a faith-based nonprofit organization established to reflect the heart of God by supporting family preservation, reunification when possible, and adoption when necessary. Through residential care, community-based programs, and holistic support services, Dr. Joseph leads with a mission to empower individuals and families to heal, thrive, and live with dignity and purpose. Dr. Joseph brings extensive experience in foster care leadership, nonprofit governance, and program development. Her work spans multi-state initiatives, board governance, compliance, and strategic growth, with a special focus on vulnerable populations including children, families, veterans, and adults in need of structured care and support. In addition to her professional leadership, Dr. Joseph is a prophetic voice and intercessor who ministers with wisdom, humility, and discernment. Her ministry emphasizes alignment, restoration, and walking in divine purpose, encouraging others to trust God’s process while building lives anchored in faith and obedience. Guided by Scripture and a deep reliance on the Spirit of Grace, Dr. Gabrielle Joseph leads with compassion, clarity, and conviction bridging faith and service to leave a lasting impact on families and communities.
Johnny Dexter
Johnny Dexter serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Vice President of Chosen by Grace Family Services. He has over 18 years of experience in aviation management, supported by an Associate Degree in Aviation, which has equipped him with a strong foundation in leadership, safety, and operational excellence. Johnny has spent 12 years working overseas in Afghanistan and Iraq, where he developed resilience, cultural competence, and a deep respect for structure, accountability, and mission- driven service. These experiences shaped his disciplined yet compassionate leadership style and strengthened his ability to lead in complex and high-responsibility environments. At Chosen by Grace Family Services, Johnny is committed to applying his extensive background to help create structured, supportive, and compassionate environments for individuals and families in care. His leadership is guided by integrity, respect, and service, with a steadfast commitment to ensuring that every resident feels safe, valued, and empowered to thrive.
Miriam Collins
Miriam Collins has over 12 years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), serving in both Behavior Analyst and Behavior Technician roles. She is deeply committed to supporting adults through person-centered, evidence-based approaches that uphold dignity, foster independence, and enhance overall quality of life. Miriam has extensive experience working with diverse populations and is especially passionate about addressing the unique needs of veterans, providing care within environments that are both supportive and structured. Her clinical expertise is grounded in compassion, professionalism, and ethical practice. She currently serves as a sitting Board Member of Chosen by Grace Family Services, where she contributes her clinical insight, leadership, and strategic guidance to help advance the organization’s mission and uphold the highest standards of care.
Dr. Sydney Joseph
Dr. Sidney Joseph, LCSW, PhD in Community Psychology and Behavioral Science, serves as a board member of Chosen by Grace Family Services and is the Founder and CEO of H.O.P.E. Organization (Healing Our People Everyday), a community-centered agency committed to mental health empowerment and workforce development. With advanced training in clinical social work and community psychology, Dr. Joseph brings deep expertise in behavioral health, community engagement, and systems-level advocacy. In his role on the board of Chosen by Grace Family Services, Dr. Joseph provides strategic leadership and clinical insight that help shape the organization’s vision, ethical standards, and service delivery approach. His contributions strengthen trauma-informed and culturally responsive care models while promoting sustainable, community-rooted solutions. Through thoughtful governance and program oversight, he supports the organization’s commitment to creating safe, supportive environments where youth, adults, and families can experience healing, stability, and long-term growth.
